Lumeno AI
Lumeno AI’s all-in-one platform helps students in universities throughout North America in learning, practicing, and reviewing class materials. It launched with 1000+ licences bought by reputable universities in Canada in just one week.

Context
Evolving the Scope
I was initially brought in to redesign Lumeno’s web dashboard around three new AI-powered learning features: Study Recap Generator, Study Guide Generator, and Practice Guide Generator. As the project progressed, the team realized the same experience would eventually need to support a future mobile app. This shifted my role from adding features to the existing website to restructuring the underlying user flow so it could scale across both web and mobile platforms.

Challenges
Primary Challenge

Secondary Challenge
The product had no centralized Figma source of truth or design system.
At the same time, I needed to design a flow that would work for both the current web product and a planned mobile app, then rethink navigation, feature hierarchy, and lastly, the interaction patterns.

Ideation
Competitor Research and Benchmarking

These references helped me identify how students could move between courses, upload materials, review PDFs, and generate study resources with micro interactions that wouldn't leave the user feeling overwhelmed.

Solution
Mobile App Experience

Website Experience
For the website, I added and integrated the new AI learning features into the dashboard through a new side navigation bar, reorganized the information hierarchy to reduce dead clicks and clarify feature purpose, and lastly, I created a complete Figma archive of the existing product, giving the team a structured reference for future iterations.

Impact
What changed after?
The redesigned mobile experience became a key asset for communicating Lumeno’s product vision. The app designs were used to demonstrate the future mobile experience to potential partners and institutions.
The concepts contributed to securing 1,000+ license requests from leading Canadian universities. And the project also provided the company with its first structured Figma-based product design foundation, making future collaboration and iteration significantly easier.

Reflection
And lastly….
This project taught me that UX problems are often workflow problems rather than screen problems.
What began as a feature integration task became an exercise in information architecture, cross-platform thinking, and product scalability. I learned the importance of designing around a user’s natural mental model and study behavior, rather than simply organizing features by technical functionality.

Let’s work together.
